Pied Kingfisher is a water kingfisher found widely distributed across Africa and Asia. Their black and white plumage, crest and the habit of hovering over clear lakes and rivers before diving for fish makes it distinctive. I spotted this while travelling from Sirsi(uttara kannada district , Karnataka) to Bangalore , I immediately pulled over my car and started clicking.
The Brahminy Kite also known as the Red-backed Sea-eagle in Australia, is a medium-sized bird of prey. They are found in the Indian Sub-continent, South-east Asia and Australia.
I spotted this beauty just when i was getting down from our vehicle to the sanctuary. I was lucky to have my camera and lens ready.

It feeds mainly on fish, caught by diving, and has special visual adaptions to enable it to see prey under water.
Purple rumped sunbird is endemic to indian subcontinent .They feed mainly on flower nectar and insects .The sunbirds have counterparts in two very distantly related groups , the hummingbirds of the Americas and honeyeaters of Australia.
