A man buys plantain leaves on the occasion of Ugadi – the Kannada New Year. I can only imagine the sumptuous meal he would have had on the plantain leaf.
Onam is a festival mainly celebrated in Kerala every year. It is a harvest festival, although there is a mythological story to it too. You can read it here.
Seen here is a typical flower decoration/arrangement called pookallam.
Onam is on 23rd August this year.
One more from Russell market (Probably the last). There are lots of kinds of people there, and most of these street vendors were just really enthusiastic about having their picture taken. This guy was not doing anything, just started to “pretend” to work when pictures were being taken. Turned out to be a good portrait 🙂
Perfection can be found only in nature. This fella looks like he’s going for prey, but he’s just going to perch onto the edge of a building. (Probably to scout for a prey!)
Shot at Russell Market, Bangalore. Right above the Beef Market.
The flyover was done after almost 7 whole years. It biggest use came for advertising! Most memorable would be when Vodafone officially launched. It painted the whole area crimson with its ads!
It has been raining cats and dogs for a couple of evenings now. This shot was taken from inside the car. The visibility was pretty low and the Bangalore traffic was a mess (as usual!) . Clicked with a cell phone camera (Sony Ericsson W810i ).
