Scaly breasted munia or spice finch is a sparrow sized bird native to tropical asia.The species has 11 subspecies across their range and differ slightly in size and colour. Munia eats mainly on grass seeds apart from berries and small insects.

Beauty of the Jungle
The blackbuck (Antilope cervicapra) is native to Indian Subcontinent ,it has been classified as near threatened by IUCN since 2003, as its range has decreased sharply during the 20th century. The native population is stable, with an estimated 50,000 individuals. We spotted this beauty at Jayamangali Black buck conservation reserve at Tumkur district of Karnataka. Though Black bucks are shy we were lucky to spot a few at a perfectly lit up evening.

Indian Rollers are widely found across tropical asia , Iraq and Indian subcontinent. These birds are usually seen perched on prominent bare trees. They descend to the ground to capture their prey which may include insects, arachnids. The aerobatic display of this birds with twists and turns give this species the name Roller.
