During a recent visit to Ano Neuvo state park here in California, I had the chance to observe elephant seals from close quarters. Males can get quite aggressive during the active breeding season where they challenge each other for a fight to establish the alpha status. Here you can see one of them roaring (for the lack of a better word to describe a sound similar to a motorbike starting up 🙂 ) to call a fight. An interesting thing to note is that males during the breeding season dont eat anything for about 3 months.. they stay on shore, sleep (and snore!) and fight.
On a serious note: Great photography!
“When natural photographers take up Engineering?”
On a lighter note:
During a recent visit to a college in Bangalore, I had the chance to observe new students from close quarters. Males can get quite compulsive, desperate-ive on Rose-day, Ethnic day, Valentine’s day! There you can see many boyses running behind girlses with roses & what not? An interesting thing to note is that rejected boyses dont eat anything for about 3 months after the rejection!
Keep rocking,
Bye
PS: There are boys, and there are men!
scary pic dude!
